Two men meet on a subway platform and find themselves in a tenement apartment where a life-or-death decision must be made. One is a professor whose seemingly enviable existence of ease has nonetheless left him in despair. The Preacher is an ex-con and ex-addict is the more hopeful of the two, although he is just as desperate to convince The Professor of the power of faith as The Professor is desperate to deny it. Their aim: to find the meaning of life. A thought-provoking and intimate work by one of the most insightful writers of our time. (Contains strong language and content)
